My Story
Holistic Health and Wellness Counseling: Around age 23-25 I went through a series of chronic health issues related to trigonitis, yeast infections, irregular menstruation, and complications from taking too many antibiotics and antifungals to try and treat these issues, all while traveling and having little access to reliable health care. After 2 years, I finally got diagnosed with trigonitis in Nepal and felt hopeless after reading online about this “lifelong” diagnosis and the suffering people experience throughout their lives with this diagnosis.
My partner at the time was very convincing to do an intensive yoga program to help with these issues. We traveled to India to take a month-long course in yoga therapy, which included concepts and practice in Ayurveda, regular meditation and around 5 hours of Iyengar style yoga practice per day. The first two weeks we maintained silence during classes, meals, and were restricted from social media and cell phones. This deepened my connection with myself, helped me feel more grounded, calm, and accepting of my body and mind, and gave me an interest to dive deeper into this wisdom. About a year later, I decided to sign up for a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in India, in order to deepen my self-practice and knowledge of Hatha Yoga. I did not know at the time, but I was signed up for a one-month long ashram stay, with strict adherence to Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle. At the time, I was still struggling with some of the consequences and symptoms of my chronic health issues.
During this course, I became aware of important indicators of my health such as routine constipation that I was previously unconscious to. We followed a very strict timing and diet according to Ayurvedic principles and learned in our philosophy talks, the “why” behind each of our frameworks. It was after this course that I experienced, for the first time in years, a complete sense of balance, vitality, and proper functioning of my body. Following this course, I worked to maintain the foundations of this lifestyle in my day-to-day.
As I integrated back into life in the US, I found it difficult to maintain these practices without seeming like a “health nut.” I realized how backwards our health system, diet, and lifestyle are when comparing these principles with what I had learned to bring my health back into balance. The amazing thing I found was that even when I “fell off” or strayed from time to time, I could feel the effects of imbalance in my body so vividly that it became clear what I needed to do to regain the balance. During this period I also noticed that in keeping with my practices, my immune system became very strong, and I noticeably had little to no visits to the doctors and only mild sickness throughout the years, in contrast to usually getting at least one extreme illness per year.
At this point, I felt a deep desire to return to the East with the intention to spend more time learning, understanding, and deepening in this wisdom so that I could share it with others. After two years, I finally found myself back in India, this time, determined to stay, until I felt that I learned enough to continue on my path in learning how to share this wisdom. I found an Ayurvedic Doctor whom I particularly connected with, because she had spent 12 years studying, not only to be an Ayurvedic Doctor, but also a Gynecologist and nutritionist. She works with her husband, who is also an Ayurvedic Doctor that specializes in natural medicines and herbal pharmacology and teaches these topics Mysore University. I enrolled in a course with them working one-on-one to dive deeper into topics that I found intriguing and useful in correlation with the Western lifestyle. One of my favorite topics being women’s health and hormonal balance, as well as learning about the teachings of how to grow and foster a healthy baby during pregnancy. Even touching on how to make your own alternatives to chemical filled toiletries and beauty products. I felt a new sense of energy, creativity, and inspiration after each class with them
Spiritual Counseling:
Having traveled and immersed myself in different spiritual practices, I’ve developed a unique understanding of how spiritual growth manifests in various forms. My connection to God and the divine has been nurtured through years of study in Eastern philosophy, meditation, yoga, as well as coming back to my roots in Christianity and finding deeper meaning and understanding in the teachings of Jesus. These experiences have given me a deep reverence for all spiritual paths and the ability to hold space for others with compassion, presence, and patience.
My professional experience also equips me to bridge the gap between spiritual wisdom and modern needs. I am a certified Transformational Coach (Being True to You), with experience in counseling, integration coaching, and teaching. I’ve supported teens and young adults undergoing ketamine-assisted therapy across the U.S., helping them prepare for and integrate transformative experiences. I listen deeply, offer structured guidance, and create tailored practices that meet people where they are—whether you seek holistic health, spiritual mentorship, or integration of life-transforming experiences.
My journey has shown me that healing is not about rigid discipline, but about building a resilient relationship with the body, mind, and spirit. Through having lived with chronic health issues, immersing myself in alternative health science, and guiding others through transformative journeys, I bring both lived experience and professional training.
I know what it feels like to be weighed down by the suffering of the body & mind, searching for balance, meaning, and connection and I also know what it feels like to find it. That is why I am uniquely positioned to walk alongside others in reclaiming vitality, deepening their spiritual connection, and living a life aligned with their highest truth.
